Racinage is opening online access

After months of quiet building, Racinage is now open online. The first hosted version is live at racinage.com - free to use, private by default, and ready to hold the records a family actually keeps: the tree, the photos, the events, the projects, the documents, the history, and the money matters that tie it all together.

Racinage exists for a simple reason. Family information tends to scatter - names and dates in one person's head, photos across three phones, event plans in a group chat, and important documents in a drawer nobody can find. Racinage gathers all of it into one calm, permission-aware workspace that belongs to your family, not to a social network.

What you can do today

The hosted version ships with the full core of the platform. From day one you can:

• Build interactive family trees. Add parents, spouses, partners, and children; attach existing people or create new ones; switch between horizontal and vertical layouts; and watch live statistics update - total persons, women, men, in-laws, and those who have passed.
• Organize albums and galleries. Keep photos, videos, and memory notes together, with dates and stories so they stay searchable instead of lost in a camera roll.
• Record your history. A dated timeline lets the family preserve the moments, milestones, and stories that would otherwise fade.
• Plan events and run projects. Coordinate gatherings, track contributions, and manage shared initiatives with their own budgets and plans.
• Track finances. Wallets, transactions, and reports keep family money clear and accountable.
• Keep documents safe. Store the important files - and notify the right people when something changes.
• Share on your terms. Publish a tree, album, event, project, or history record through a controlled public link, with viewer settings you decide.

Private by default

Nothing in Racinage is public unless you deliberately make it so. There are no open profiles and no surprise sharing. Permissions are enforced on the server, signup is protected against bots, and you choose exactly what - if anything - leaves the family workspace. When you do share, you can review public recommendations before they ever affect your family's data.

Free during launch

The current online launch is free to use with one family per account, and pricing is always visible before any billing begins. As paid plans arrive, you will see exactly what each tier includes, so there are never surprises. Our goal is for families to start today, at no cost, and grow into the features they need.

What's coming next

The hosted launch is the first step, not the destination. The roadmap rolls out in clear stages:

• Offline desktop apps - open-source local builds with the current feature set and ongoing security patches, for families who want full local control.
• Mobile apps and online sync - reach your family records from anywhere, with database and media syncing between online and offline, plus birthday reminders so nobody is forgotten.
• Communication tools - live chat, donation links, payments, emails, gifts, and broadcast options to keep relatives connected.

How to get started

Creating your family account takes a minute: choose a family name, verify your email, and invite the relatives who will help you build it out. From there, start with the tree and add the records that matter most to you. You can keep everything completely private while you fill it in, and open up only the pieces you choose, only when you are ready.
